N2  - The most recent epidemiological data indicate that pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the Western World (1,2) and it is projected to become the second cause by 2030 (3). This evidence depicts a particular troublesome scenario for National healthcare systems given the high mortality rate, the short life expectancy of affected patients, and the absence of effective therapies for this disease (1,2).
