MicroRNA master regulator of hematopoiesis may also hold the key to B-cell lymphoma pathogenesis and therapy

Charles H. Lawrie

Abstract

Lymphoma affects over one million people annually and is the fifth largest cause of cancer-associated death world-wide. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) accounts for almost half of all lymphomas, and despite great improvements in treatment over the last decade with the introduction of R-CHOP, most patients will eventually die of this malignancy.
