Gamma knife: a useful tool for treatment of essential tremor
Abstract
Essential tremor (ET) is the most common movement disorder in the world-prevalence among adults aged 65 years and older is approximately five percent. ET worsens with age and can cause severe difficulty with basic activities of daily living, such as eating, drinking, writing, or using a cellular phone. This article discusses the natural history of ET, and various options for treatment including Gamma Knife radiosurgery.
