Dr. Koie is Professor of Urology at the Department of Urology, Gifu University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan. He has major expertise and experience in treating genitourinary cancers, especially bladder and prostate cancer. In addition, his specialty is robotic surgery, including intracorporeal urinary diversion and he has the formal case observation site trainer in Japan.

Dr. Koie was trained at the Hirosaki University, Japan from 1994. He qualified the specialty of urology, endoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, and medical oncology. Dr. Koie participated in several national and international clinical trials as principle- or sub- investigator and is involved in numerous multi-institutional clinical research studies.

Dr. Koie is a member of several national and international scientific societies. He authored and coauthored over 200 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals as well as over five book chapters. He received several national and international awards and honors.
